The 2nd Coast Guard to Coast Guard High Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard and the Sri Lanka Coast Guard were held on 04th and 05th January 2017 at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi in India.

            The staff talk interactions between the two friendly Coast Guards were aimed to enhance the bilateral Coast Guard cooperation and inter-personal relations. It emphasis the importance of developing a comprehensive formal bilateral cooperation mechanism and strengthening the ongoing commitment of both Coast Guard at the operational level as well as in the field of training and information exchange.

During this session, the delegates focused their consideration on a wide range of issues that included training, Coast Guard interaction and cooperation on joint patrol and capacity building of SLCG personnel.

During the visit, Director General Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalatunge also paid a courtesy call on Secretary of Defence India, Mr.G. Mohan Kumar and High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India H.E Ms. Chithranganee Wagiswara. After cordial discussions, mementos were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill.
